My family has a special tradition that has been around for many generations.  It started with my great-great aunt, Christine.

When a family member has a special event or has done something outstanding a red plate will be placed before him or her to use.  It is a ruby red plate that is absolutely beautiful.

This tradition created so many wonderful memories growing up. Anytime the red plate was set on the table I was excited to see who was going to receive it.

Recently I was able to share the red plate with Rodney.  I feel blessed that I am going to be able to continue this tradition with my new family, and I hope it will continue on for many generations.
