Rodney and I were given a Belgian waffle maker for a wedding gift (Thank you, Jaymie and Janet). It is amazing and I could eat waffles almost everyday!
Here is a great recipe.
Ingredients:
-
2 cups flour
-
3/4 cup sugar
-
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
-
2 eggs separated
-
1 1/2 cups milk
-
1 cup butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
-
Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.

-
Separate eggs and place yolks in a separate bowl.

-
Lightly beat the egg yolks.

-
Add milk to the beaten egg yolks.

-
Add the butter

-
Add vanilla.

-
Mix until well combined.

-
Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients until combined.

-
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.

-
Fold egg whites into batter.

-
Preheat waffle maker. Once it’s ready, spray with cooking spray to make sure the waffles do not stick.

-
Pour approximately 1/3 cup batter in waffle maker. Close lid and cook until golden brown.
-
Top with maple syrup and butter.
